About Me

Ashley Chan
Computer Science Student | Aspiring Software Engineer
My Story
Born and raised in Tracy, CA, my path to engineering wasn't immediate, but it was certainly transformative. High school introduced me to the SEA (Space and Engineering Academy), an incredible program where a small group of us—just 40 from each class—dove deep into five advanced science and engineering courses. From the intricacies of 3D modeling and the structural challenges of building bridges, to the hands-on excitement of Arduinos, rockets, and robots, I was captivated. That experience, with all its diverse projects and additional graduation requirements, truly cemented my love for engineering. The pivotal moment came in AP Computer Science A. Suddenly, the logic, the problem-solving, the sheer creativity of CS clicked with me in a way nothing else had. It was a clear signal, and I decided then to focus my energy on Computer Science as I moved on to California State University, Fullerton. I'vealways believed in finding passion in whatever I do, and that extends beyond my technical pursuits. I have a genuine love for education, the power of music, and the beauty of art. My hope is to weave these threads into my work as a software engineer, creating solutions that are not only functional but also resonate with a touch of creativity and human connection. My experiences, including Google STEP internships, have further fueled this desire, and I'm eager to keep learning and contributing with skills in C++, Java, Python, Go, and more.
